Engineering Manager, Saltend


We are seeking to recruit a highly experienced Engineering Manager to work at our 1200MW gas-fired power station in Hull.


The Engineering Manager is responsible for delivering the sites engineering and maintenance strategy, managing asset integrity, plant availability, reliability and efficiency, compliance against statutory, corporate and site requirements, capital and major repair and renewal costs, long term maintenance agreements and contracts, leading a team of discipline engineers.


Key accountabilities of the Engineering Manager role include:


• Develop and deliver the sites engineering and maintenance strategy

• Support long term commercial and operating strategy for the power plant

• Optimise plant availability, reliability and efficiency

• Deliver compliance against statutory, corporate and site requirements

• Manage capital and major repair and renewal costs

• Negotiate and tender contracts, renewals of maintenance agreements

• Deliver projects, outages, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

• Lead a team of discipline engineers and technicians

• Support and deliver business plan requirements

• Investigate plant incidents, manage corrective actions and improvements

• Manage maintenance procedures, drawings and site information

• Deliver health, safety, environmental and quality requirements

• Senior management representative for engineering and maintenance activities

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Engineering degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent

• Proven experience within the power industry or similar industry

• Demonstrated ability to apply professional expertise in an operational environment

with excellent technical competence

• Professional status within an engineering institution, an ability to make quality

decisions based on technical knowledge, analysis, experience and judgement

• Management qualification, with proven leadership and management skills and

excellent communication skills at all levels

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent, managed issues of quality, environmental, and

health and safety legislation

• Contract management and negotiation skills, commercial awareness and business

acumen, proven large EPC delivery with ability to meet project deadlines and

schedules


This is a permanent role based at Saltend Power Station, Hull. You must live, or be prepared to be located, within a commutable distance from the power station.


You will need to complete our pre-employment screening and security checks to the required standard for this role. You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
