Procurement Technician, Saltend


Saltend Power Station is seeking to recruit an experienced Procurement Technician.  

 

The Procurement Technician is responsible for the management and availability of stock inventory and ownership of the stores and heavy stores facilities, ensuring spares and equipment are available to support the operation and maintenance of the power station. Working within our Stores you will ensure stock levels are maintained, order stock inventory, issue and receive stock items, maintain records on the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), perform stock takes, manage the physical location of items, racking and inspection, including forklift truck operations. The role is a day role, with flexibility required during outage and maintenance activity. 


  • Key accountabilities

    • Ownership of the main Stores and Heavy Stores buildings  

    • Maintain stock levels   

    • Order stock inventory   

    • Issue purchase orders to suppliers  

    • Manage and update stock records on the computerised maintenance   

    management system (CMMS)  

    • Perform stock takes and stock counts  

    • Issue stock and equipment to stakeholders  

    • Receive deliveries, manage the goods inward  

    • Manage the physical location of items, racking and inspection  

    • Forklift truck operations  

    • Support site waste collection activities, as required  

  • Who we are looking for

    • CIPS Level 3 certificate desirable  

    • Forklift truck counterbalance certification essential  

    • Stores management experience  

    • Large industrial process background or similar environment   

    • Computer literate with knowledge of computerised maintenance   

    management systems (CMMS) or stock inventory management systems  

    • Flexible, willing to support operational activities as required

    • Positive attitude, good communication with different stakeholders  




This is a permanent role based at Saltend Power Station, Hull.
