Shift Engineer, Deeside


Deeside Power Station is seeking to recruit an experienced Shift Engineer.


As a Shift Engineer you will operate the Deeside facility to contractual and market requirements whilst abiding to site procedures and safety rules, maintaining the facility as part of a small team, and providing Senior Authorised Person support up to 400kv.


The Shift Engineer will work alone while on shift, operating the facility on a predominately lone man basis.


Key accountabilities of the Shift Engineer role include:


•        Operating the facility within site rules and to contractual requirements

•        Carrying out planned / unplanned maintenance and fault diagnosis.

•        Working safely and in an environmentally responsible manner to site procedures and rules

•        Performing isolations and issuing of safety to work documents up to 400kv.

•        Providing Senior Authorised Person support for LV and HV operations (6.6kv to 400kv)

•        Working alone on a shift basis, operating the facility on a predominately lone man basis

•        Liaising with contractors and suppliers

•        Providing cover and support within the shift roster


 We are looking for someone with the following:


•        Formal engineering qualification, HNC or equivalent in a related electrical or mechanical discipline or               similar

•        A strong electrical background with the ability and experience to become HV authorised.

•        Large industrial process background, preferably within the power industry or similar

•        Permit to work systems, LV/HV switching, isolations experience.

•        Computer literate
